Terms of service
Last updated 11 September 2026.
The service
Upstream (“the service”) is provided by Upstream (“we”, “us”). It lets you write a master CV, produce tailored variants of it, export them, and track where they were sent. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Your account
You need an account to use the service. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used them. You must be at least 16 to hold an account.
Your content
Everything you enter remains yours. You give us permission to store and process it only so far as is needed to run the service for you. You are responsible for what your CV says: keyword rules change how your experience is described, and it is up to you to keep the result truthful. Do not use the service to store content you have no right to hold or to harass anyone.
Plans and payment
The free plan includes 1 master CV and 2 variants and does not expire. Pro is a subscription billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe, and renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the plan and billing page; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing you created is deleted when it ends.
By starting a paid plan you ask us to provide it immediately. If it is not right for you, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. Prices are shown before you pay and may change for future periods; we will tell you at least 30 days before a change affects you.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running at all times but cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may change or withdraw features, and will give reasonable notice if a change removes something you rely on. Keep your own backups using the Data page.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our total liability to you for anything arising from the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not responsible for the outcome of any job application.
Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time from the plan and billing page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is being used to attack the service, after giving notice where it is practical to do so.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer you may also rely on the protections of the country you live in.
